L.A. Has Google Transit

Finally! Here’s a post from LAist.

Although we have long had the Metro Trip Planner, it didn’t work very well; it usually gave me connection times that were much longer than necessary–particularly when connecting to another bus system (newsflash: if a bus arrives every 15 minutes, Metro shouldn’t be telling me to wait 45.)

So here’s to Google Transit, which should make it easier for everyone with computer access to plan their travel without a car.

  1. Or LADOT’s Commuter Express, or even (apparently) the Orange Line–but it’s still better than Metro Trip Planner in terms of ease of use. This is a good start, though, so hopefully more bus lines and routes will be added soon.
